Pagan Pride Day NYC - 2004

Here are photos taken by myself (Rob Vincent, also known as Rob T Firefly) during Pagan Pride Day in New York City.

The event took place in Lower Manhattan's Battery Park, on September 25, 2004.

My old friend Melissa (aka Sunshine) and I.  I was very happy to see her there, as she is a dear old friend of mine from High School.  She is also the very first Witch (apart from myself) I ever knew.

Melissa's booth.  She makes and sells homemade soaps, bath salts, and more.

The lovely Jezibell performs her bellydance.

I had the extreme good fortune to meet two writers I respect immensely, Isaac Bonewits (left) and Margot Adler (center.)

Many thanks to Phaedra Bonewits for taking this photo!

Celtic Folk / Rock / World band Blue Knight.

This band was wonderful!

Melissa's sister Cat is a proud mom of a beautiful daughter named Alyssa!

This dear lady is Madalyn McKay, who was MC as well as PR coordinator for the event.

Margot Adler giving her wonderful keynote speech.

Incidentally, if you ever encounter one of these groups of Falun Gong practitioners wo turn up around the City, they are some of the sweetest people you could ever meet.  Their terrible situation is well worth looking into.

A snake handler was selling photo-ops with his pet.  I'm not as brave/dumb as I look here, as its mouth was bound closed.

The crowded Western path...

...and the Eastern one.

This Sphere was originally a centerpiece in the World Trade Center.  It was recovered from the rubble damaged, but intact.

It was moved to Battery Park as is, serving as a powerful memorial to those lost in the attacks of September 11, 2001.

The memorial's Eternal Flame.

This is the ferry to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.  I tried to get the tourists to wave, but they weren't having any of that.

As I left the park, I turned around for one last shot.

.I'm already looking forward to next year!
